Measure G (Placer)

Purpose

A duly called election was held in the District on November 6, 2018, and the returns were thereafter canvassed pursuant to law. At the election there was submitted to and approved by the requisite fifty-five percent (55%) vote of the qualified electors of the SFID voting on the following measure for incurring bonded indebtedness:

To repair/upgrade aging classrooms/labs/facilities at Placer High School; repair deteriorating roofs/plumbing/bathrooms; upgrade math/computer/ engineering labs and vocational/career education classrooms; maintain safe drinking water; improve safety/security systems; shall the measure for Placer High School Facilities Improvement District No. 1 of Placer Union High School District issuing $42,100,000 in bonds at legal interest rates, averaging $2,447,000 raised annually until 2050, rates estimated at $27 per $100,000 assessed valuation be adopted, with independent oversight/audits, funding for Placer High School only.

Learning Commons

  • Wall and floor tiling is in progress in all restrooms.

Earl Crabbe Gymnasium

Flatwork has been demolished on the north end. Inside the weight room the storm drain area is being excavated in preparation for repairs. On the south side of the gym rough grading is in progress.

Music Suite Relocation

The relocation of the band and choir programs into the 100 Wing is complete! Music is being played and sung! The new space brings almost 1,750 additional square feet to the illustrious program and will become a premiere center for music arts on the campus and the city of Auburn.

Teacher Collaboration Spaces

PUHSD has been assessing the school’s current and future facility needs. We initially researched the cost and feasibility of constructing a new classroom building on the lower Placer campus, with a focus on maximizing the value of Measure G bond funds.

21st Century Classroom Learning Environment

By taking this approach, more bond funds will be available to upgrade existing classrooms and facilities with additional 21st-century furniture and state-of-the-art technology. This 21st-century classroom design provides a flexible, collaborative learning environment, allowing students and teachers to work independently or in teams, which will ultimately lead to an increase in positive student outcomes.
