Flyer Approval Process and Guidelines

The Placer Union High District sincerely appreciates all individuals and organizations that provide valuable information and opportunities to our students. However, because our students are minors and are required by law to attend school, the Placer Union High School District (PUHSD) protects them from commercial solicitations during school hours. The individuals or organizations interested in sharing information with PUHSD families must meet all of the following Guidelines.

The purpose of the flyer approval process is to ensure that materials distributed through the district:

  • Support student learning, safety, and well-being
  • Are appropriate for school audiences
  • Comply with district policies and legal requirements
  • Maintain consistency in district communication

Flyers may be approved for distribution if they fall into one of the following categories:

District-Sponsored

  • School programs
  • Athletics
  • Clubs and student activities
  • Academic opportunities
  • District events

School-Related Partner Organizations

  • Parent organizations (PTA/PTO/Boosters)
  • Education foundations
  • Approved school partnerships

Community Programs (Limited Approval)

  • Youth sports leagues
  • Educational camps
  • Non-profit youth programs
  • Community events benefiting students

Note: Approval does not constitute District endorsement.

Flyers will not be approved if they include:

  • Commercial advertising or for-profit business promotions
  • Political campaign materials
  • Religious recruitment or proselytizing
  • Content inappropriate for minors
  • Messaging that conflicts with district policies or the educational mission
  • Fundraising not affiliated with district-approved groups
