PUHSD Board Approves 4.9% Ongoing Salary Increase for Educators
Auburn, California - September 16, 2026
The Placer Union High School District Board of Trustees has approved a new agreement with the Associated Teachers of Placer (ATP) that includes a 4.9% ongoing salary increase for the district’s teachers and other ATP-represented certificated employees. The increase is retroactive to July 1, 2026.
“I am appreciative of both bargaining teams for the time, thoughtfulness, and collaboration they brought to this process,” said Elena DalFavero, PUHSD Assistant Superintendent of Human Resources. “In particular, ATP Vice President and Bargaining Chair Jacob Fefer’s leadership should be commended. His commitment to working together was instrumental in reaching an agreement that supports our educators and strengthens our district.”
The two-year agreement also addresses class size, evaluation, safety, leaves, employee benefits, and the work year. It will remain in effect through June 30, 2028.
For 2027-2028, the agreement establishes a framework for determining additional ongoing compensation funding based on state-funded cost-of-living adjustments and certain additional increases to the Local Control Funding Formula (LCFF) base grant. The distribution of those funds will be determined through future negotiations.
“I am pleased that the board approved the tentative agreement. I’d like to thank the ATP bargaining team as well as Assistant Superintendent Elena DalFavero and the PUHSD bargaining team for a successful round of negotiations,” said Jacob Fefer, ATP Vice President.
The agreement will remain in effect through June 30, 2028.
Placer Union High School District serves students across Placer County through its comprehensive and alternative high schools, including Del Oro, Placer, Colfax, Foresthill, Confluence and Confluence West, Maidu Virtual Charter Academy, and Placer School for Adults.
