At PUHSD, all students have access to school meals at no cost. So why does the meal benefits application still matter?
Families who meet the income guidelines may be eligible for additional resources and benefits. Completing the application helps PUHSD determine whether your student qualifies, while also helping the district access funding that supports programs and opportunities for students across our schools.
Depending on eligibility, families may qualify for benefits such as reduced fees for SAT and Advanced Placement exams, college applications, bus passes, reduced-price home internet, and SUN Bucks, which provides $120 in food benefits per eligible child to supplement summer meals.
It's a win for eligible families and a win for our students.
Who should apply?
If your household income falls within the income guidelines (
see federal guidelines here), we encourage you to complete the application. You don't have to determine your eligibility on your own. PUHSD will review the information you provide and let you know whether your student qualifies.
The application takes less than five minutes to complete.
